At some point, the knowledge held by one rider begins to shape another — that is why teaching sits within the College. As Working Equitation grows into new countries, good instructors become part of how the discipline grows with it, so the College gives Members who want to teach a pathway built on the same curriculum and standard they have studied themselves.
The Member has studied the discipline in full. The Licence asks them to become capable of explaining that knowledge clearly, recognising what is happening in another horse and rider, and helping that rider understand the training behind the result.
Riders with a verified Masters-level competition score of 70% or higher may apply to have their existing knowledge, riding and competition record reviewed by the Fellows. Where the required standard is already demonstrated, the Fellows may approve an accelerated route through the relevant examinations — while the Licence continues to represent the same standard wherever it is held.
