1. WHO WE ARE

When these terms say "we", "us", "our", "the College" or "Alvará", they mean Alvará – The College of Working Equitation Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17384770, whose registered office is at Suite 41, 792 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester, United Kingdom, M20 6UG.

When they say "you" or "your", they mean any person who visits or uses our website.

"Our website" means alvara.com, www.alvara.com and any subdomain of them, together with all content, functionality and services offered on or through them.

2. AGREEING TO THESE TERMS

By accessing or using our website you agree to be bound by these terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our website.

Please read these terms carefully before using our website. We encourage you to keep a copy for your records.

3. WHAT OUR WEBSITE OFFERS AT PRESENT

Our website currently provides:

  • information about the College, its Fellows, its curriculum, its membership and its residencies;
  • the Library - a collection of freely readable articles about Working Equitation; and
  • a form through which you can register your interest in membership, and a form through which you can write to the Registrar's Office and, if you choose, ask to receive occasional updates from us.

Prototype Group memberships, offered by invitation, are sold through our website on our Prototype Group Membership Terms, which you are asked to accept before you pay.

Apart from those, no membership, subscription, product or service is currently offered for sale on our website. Any other prices, membership tiers or residencies described on our website are indicative and describe what the College intends to offer. They are not an offer capable of acceptance, and submitting the register-of-interest form does not create a membership, a booking, a place on a residency or any other contract for services. When we begin to offer other memberships for sale, separate terms will apply and will be presented to you before you commit to anything.

4. UPDATES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated terms apply from the date they are published on our website, which is shown at the foot of this page. Your continued use of our website after that date means you accept the updated terms.

5. REGISTERING YOUR INTEREST OR CONTACTING THE REGISTRAR

If you submit the register-of-interest and/or the Registrar Contact form you agree:

  • to provide true, accurate and current details;
  • that you are at least 16 years of age, or that a parent or guardian is submitting the form on your behalf and with their consent;
  • that we may contact you by email about the enquiry you have made; and
  • where you have ticked the box to receive updates, that we may send you occasional email updates about the College. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email or by writing to us at [email protected].

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect both forms against automated abuse. Its use is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms.

6. AGE

Our website is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 16 you may read the public pages of our website, but you must not submit any form or otherwise provide us with personal information except through a parent or guardian, who must supervise your use of our website.

  • decompile, reverse engineer, copy or imitate our website, its design, or the content and materials on it.

We may restrict or block your access to our website if we believe you are in breach of these terms.

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights that you have as a consumer and that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed replaced by a valid and enforceable provision that most closely reflects its intent, and the remainder of these terms will continue in full effect.
